Of passion

It sickens me that people around me have either no passion in anything they do or it burns out quickly.

Well actually, this rant is probably due to lack of soccer in recent weeks. I used to play soccer at 6pm everyday around my neighbourhood. Normally, we can get around 8-12 people easily. Back were the days when everyone was super gung-ho about soccer. Eat, sleep, talk soccer, u name it we do it. Nowadays, due to work, NS, girlfriends, etc etc, the numbers decrease to a pathetic number. Fair enough, not everyone is as "free" as me. But even on weekends, gathering 8 is still a problem (1 team = 4 players). I don't get it. If you really have a passion for something, won't you sacrifice some time for it? Dun just say "I love soccer" when in fact, it's just a "hobby" or something to kill time with. Now that I have started work, I will still drive down like a madman from office to try to make it back in time for soccer, albeit late. For the past 18 years of my life, I still hold soccer firmly as my "top 3 love-of-my-life". I'm proud to say that my passion never die one bit.

Speaking of passion, I dun understand how so many people can get by being sucked into a routine without much ahead directions. Feels like a living corpse if you ask me. Passion are reserved for those who truly want to live life. Even if it's collecting stamps, if you have passion, you truly deserve my respect.
