Oscars 2009

I think i might have just watched the academy's award for best motion picture just now. It struck me that Benjamin button, forest grump and titanic uses flashbacks to tell the life-story of the protagonist. Interesting method, but too overused. And, of course, they are at least 3 hrs long. You do need a long picture to tell a story rite?

Having watched all the best motion picture from 1990 to 2008 with my gramophone membership, I have come out with a list of my own best of the best

Best of the best: Schindler's list
Worse of the best: Unforgiven, No country for old men (read: Clint Eastwood)
Unexpected: Lord of the Rings (Return of the king) (too commercial for an Oscar)
Most artsy: Shakespeare in love

I strongly feel that "There will be blood" is more deserving of an oscar than NCFOM. Seriously, I cant see how they judge it and probably never will. Same goes for Crash too ... WTH !
