ARMY ( 140104 - 130306 )

Army is 2 yrs 2 months but i've got shit loads to say about it than jc.

So i shall blog about it in 4 parts so that i can recall what happen in my army daze. But hell i sure don't miss it =).

Of cos the big four parts of NS for me is BMT, SISPEC, SOA, Unit 41sar

BMT

After A levels, i bet all guys that enlist in Dec/Jan sure have this shitty feeling. The day of enlistement. We really hate the girls. Why the hell the governement give so much benefits to the girls ???? NO NS and 8 months of long holiday. 8 MONTHS ! Really jealous, i dun think that i can ever have that kind of lobo/slack period in my life. ya, 140104 was a big day for me. Before i entered i have a vague impression of wat army is like : PUSH UP, WAKE UP EARLY, AREA CLEANING, PT ..ETC

So the first day started off quite bad. We were enlisted at 2 pm. By the time all the oath taking , saying goodbye to your parents it was already 5 pm. I was posted to Hawk company We were brought to the training shed to collect our equipements and uniforms. At 7 plus when the sky was about to turn dark, we went to shave our hair bald. At the point in time, we were very lost as we still don't know which bunk we stay and we carried the heavy duffle bags ard. Shaving bald is a new experience. I WILL NEVER SHAVE MY HAIR BALD for whatever reason if not for army. Candy knows how much hair means to me =). It's like putting down your pride , your rebellious behaviour away. ( NO, i did not cry ) . Okay enough of speaking about shaving the hair, after that we couldn't even bathe yet ! Still had PC interview. WTF, can u imagine the sweat and hair mixed together and sticking onto your CV clothes ?? sux man. 9 plus we were brought to our bunk and LIGHTS OUT straight away. Don't know whether the instructors were tekan-ing us or simply following the RO timing strictly. But either way, i didn'thave my bathe. Simply slept throu' the night with HAIR and SWEAT
Second day, i woke up early at 5 because i just simply couldn't sleep. I wasn't used to the environment. But i got to know my section mates and we chatted on our bed while lying down. It was a nice moment. Imagine strangers from different background but sleeping in the same room at the time. Where else can u have that kind of experience unless you're the kind getting yourself laid after parties (ha) My closest friend in BMT are kun yew, ee fai n song hui. i was bed 7 they are bed 8 5 and 6 respectively. So we were always together in a group. Water parade at the second day was a good experience also. don't understand why the army have to force water down your throat if u dun wan to drink. Isn't it like dunking ? Hated all the water parades. I always dun fill my water bottle completely.
BMT was all about perfecting marching drills, cleaning weapon area cleaning ( although i dun recall we did much area cleaning after breakfast, always go back n sleep !) and of cos outfield. OUTFIELD was fun for me for both 7 day field camp and SIT TEST. the 7 days field camp i became very close to songhui. He couldn't really built the Basha ( spelling ?) so i always have to built it myself. damn taxing but we supported each other throughtout the whole thing. I can remember the times we were doing prowling duty at the field camp site simply just toking about our lives. Whenever either of us want to shit/pee , we will always accompany each other. * damn gay* . Ya, it's throu' him that i managed to survive the 7 day field camp. I did argue and almost broke into a fight with another section mate. It was because i was shag or wat, he kick my ass and i just punch him somewhere *guess* . natural reaction . then He wanted to carry on the exchanges but our section mate pull us apart and put us at different ends of the "section movement". After the whole field camp, we did apologize to each other also ( AWWWWW !) SIT test was nothing much except fuckin lots of WAYING. I for one can't take wayang. I just kept a low profile throughout the whole thing but managed to pull off a sucessful mission ( think that's why i became a commander). During PC interview, i told my PC tat i didn;t want to go SISPEC but fuck. think he want to play me so there i went SISPEC. But field camp made me appreciate things a lot more. LIKE the toilet in your homes, the shit-y food my father cooks, the air con in my room, the bed, the lights ....etc . I simply think that my bunk was heaven after the FULL 7 day field camp ( eyes on to DELTA RECs , i will forvever remember your pizza dinner )
Well, after those two high key excerise, i got to play a lot of soccer in BMT with my instructors and they were very nice ppl. My platoon sergeant was tearful when he left us in outfield as he got posted out to Infantry unit as we were his last batch and that we were special t0 him. It was also an incredible archievement for me to complete the 24 km although i have to admit that HAWK field pack was not standard ( ahem ..... ) . my legs were wobbly after the 24 k. heard a few company mates said that they saw something following us throughout the march. but i didn;t see anything . Speaking of which , we also had this shadow figure pass by section 3 bunk every monday. Whenever someone rushes out to see what's the figure it disappears again. Strange ....
Special thing to note is that i actually was one of the guards with ee fai when the Tekong Robbers were ard. Cool eh. We were protecting the school when they were having games day.
So ya, that's it for what i have to say about BMT. It's all about friendship and bonds
